The Stranger

Based on the novel by Albert Camus

This is the first part of the Man and God trilogy created by the Malenky theater: a man indifferent to God. An adaptation of a work by the Nobel laureate Albert Camus, which became the cornerstone of existentialism and the absurd of the 20th century. It is the story of the life and death of Meursault, who accidentally or not so accidentally murders an Arab man and is sentenced to death. The absurdity of the situation is, however, in that he is sentenced to death not for having killed but because he refuses to lie – something perceived by society as indifference: he doesn’t cry and reveals the truth in an almost pathological manner.
