The Malenky (Small) theater's credo is derived from the saying "in the beginning there was the Word." We don't accept definitions such as "mainstream" or "fringe" but only those of "alive" and "dead." We want to talk to the audience because we believe that in the theater the two groups, the actors and the public, must work together.. In Malenky's productions we try to create the intimacy experienced by a person reading a book. The encrypted spiritual values of the great, classical texts we work with come to light in the laboratory of the theater. We believe, without naiveté, but also without cynicism, in the spiritual task of the theater and in its ability to discuss the most acute issues related to the human soul. The future of those who successfully continue to believe in it in the 21st century shall grow from small to great.
